I have been waiting for my plum trees to blossom so that I could post a photo of their beautiful flowers. Because of the tag-line of my blog, which has deep meaning to me, I have been anticipating these blooms for some time.

I was shopping at my neighborhood nursery in Lubbock - Little Red Riding Hood Nursery - and came across this fantastic azalea tree. I don’t know that I have seen a prettier one.

One of the AAS winners this year is this really pretty pink, yellow and white petunia. It has 2.5-inch flowers with a silvery shine which causes blooms to shimmer. The hyacinths have begun appearing in the grocery stores, nurseries and our local Lowe’s. The bulbs are a true harbinger of Spring. Even though the ones in the stores have been forced - I know that it will not be long until these very varieties will begin blooming in my yard.

The chrysanthemum is a perfect gift plant.  You can enjoy it indoors with it in full bloom just about any time of the year.  When it has finished blooming, plant it outdoors and it will come back year after year, blooming reliably every autumn.
