New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers

New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers

We had a great party on my birthday; unforgettable. When we all got tired of shouting and dancing and prancing, it was time to open the gifts. I got lot of good stuff that day, but the best present was to come from my dear girlfriend Yvonne. She had kept her gift for the last and when she presented it, all of us guys were stunned. She had got me two tickets for the preseason game of my favorite team New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers. Did I mention, they were courtside.

All the guys looked at me with hopeful eyes and Yvonne understood; she apologized and said that she could afford only two tickets. The guys were waiting for my verdict as to whom I will be taking. Daniel suddenly asked when the game was and when I told him that it was on the 20th of October he dropped out of the competition saying that he had court that day. Now it was down to Neal and Lorenzo. They both had some discussion and came up with the decision that Neal would be going with me. To this day, none of us know what deal they made.

Two days later we were at the Wells Fargo, Philadelphia for the game, seated on courtside seats. Neal couldn’t control his enthusiasm at times. The game began and with passing time our enthusiasm began t climb as we experienced the game live and king size in front of us. Neal’s enthusiasm was at its peak and so was mine, only thing is that I wasn’t shouting comments like him.

But after some time, our enthusiasm began to fade just as fast as it had peaked; the Knicks were having a hard time. Neal and I were at the edge of our seats wishing the game should swing in Knicks favor. But it was not to be so, the 76ers closed the game with a 118-91 victory over our beloved team.

The first leg of the drive back home was very silent as neither Neal nor I spoke but then I made a remark of how great the seats were and we began discussing the perks of those seats and adrenaline rush of seeing the ball move right in front of our eyes. Neal mentioned how he had to keep a tight control over himself so that he would not jump in the middle of the game to take the ball or to speak to his favorite star to which I laughed my heart out. I didn’t tell him, but I had to do the same. In the end, we both ended up blessing Yvonne for the tickets.
